He likes Skittles. |
I haven't done any flesh tones outside of my two Dark Elf Corsairs, so his skin was interesting to do. I started of with the Tallarn Flesh and then I used Reaper's Fair Shadow over it, followed by Reaper's Fair, and an Ogyrian wash on top. I don't think it turned out too bad, and it didn't take forever and a half. I think I am going to experiment with different tones to give the army some variety.
He's not based yet because I'm trying to do something a little different than I have before, and I haven't had a chance to get them started. The blue stuff on his foot in the photos is just some putty I used to help stand him up. I'm going to use some slate and use some "gems" to decorate the bases eventually. It's not a solid concept yet, just a work-in-progress idea.
I also have a test model with chainmail that I am going to try out soon. I want to do gold chainmail, but Hubby says it's going to be a pain in butt to make it look right. I think it will look awesome, so we shall see. I don't have that many models with chainmail on them, so even if it takes a while I think it will be worth it. I really like the green/gold combination.
